Adjaria Trip

Day 1

In the morning we will leave Kutaisi to visit Sairme famous for its healing mineral springs. We will have the opportunity to drink the mineral water, which is equally good for health and beauty. We will then head to the mountains. We will cross the Zekari Pass (2300 m), which is the border of the Imereti and Samcche Javakheti regions. Here, time has stopped, you can meet shepherds and horses running wildly on the hills. Descending from the other side of the pass you will reach the resort of Abastumani. This is where sanatoriums for tuberculosis patients were located in Soviet times, and the town became known as a resort thanks to its pure mountain climate. After leaving Abastumani, we will reach the Goderdzi Pass (2025 m). A ski resort is located here. We will be accommodated in a gesthous in the midst of the surrounding mountains.

Day 2

After breakfast we will go on a small off-road to the Shuamta Lakes. We will cross the Abanoskheli Pass 2500m above sea level and enjoy the magnificent views from behind the car windows. We will then reach the Muslim village of Shuamta. Here, in addition to 2 beautiful lakes, we will visit a mosque and walk through this village at the end of the world. Shuamta is inhabited only in the summer season, for the winter the inhabitants leave their huts and descend into the valleys. From Shuamta we will drive to the border guard post, where we will collect passes to enter the Kikhani fortress located at 2250m above sea level (we will be close to the border with Turkey). The fortress is reached by a moderately difficult trek along a well-prepared new trail, the whole of which will take us about 3 hours in both directions. The views from the summit will reward the effort of the trek. After the trekking we will descend to the village of Khikhadziri, where a supra with Adjarian dishes and an overnight stay will await us in a family gesthouse.

Day 3

Early in the morning after breakfast we will leave Khikhadziri for the next high mountain villages of Adjari. Along the way, we will enjoy an easy trek to the Sakkherela waterfall and several viewpoints of the Adjari mountain panorama. We will have a little picnic in the nature. In the evening we will stay in yurts at the Tago Glamping in Khulo. This unusual scenic location offers accommodation in yurts or in a glamping tent. There's also a fire pit, sauna, vegan food and a shower overlooking the mountains. And yoga in the morning for those who want it.

Day 4

On this day we will already descend from the mountains to the Black Sea. On the way, we will stop at the beautiful Makhunceti waterfall to finally reach the Georgian Dubai - Batumi. We will have lunch and set off to explore the city with its contrasting architecture. We will see the old town as well as the promenade with the Miracle Park and the famous Ali and Nino statue. For those who wish, a dolphinarium or a boat cruise, or the Argo train, the possibilities are many, we will certainly choose something together. In the evening, dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Batumi.

Day 5

After breakfast, we will visit the Batumi Botanical Garden, located in Cape Verde. The over 100-year-old garden covers 115 hectares and is divided into 21 zones with 9 completely different plant sections. If the weather is good, you can stroll in the garden for several hours; if the weather is worse, a melex ride is available for an additional fee. After the garden tour, we will head towards Kutaisi. If there is enough time we can still swim in Ureki, which attracts tourists with its magnetic beaches.

The itinerary is quite detailed, but is always subject to change if only due to weather conditions or temporary road closures. You have to remember that Georgia, as beautiful as it is, is also unpredictable, but you love it for that.❤️

The final price depends on the number of people in the group, the date and the route. Determined people should buy first of all airline tickets. This is a guarantee of a trip for us. Then, after sending the confirmation of the ticket purchase, a deposit of EUR 50 is required within 7 days (in the event of cancellation, the deposit is non-refundable).
