“KAKHETI TREKKING”
Day 1
After picking up from the airport from Kopitnari (20 km from Kutaisi), exchanging money (from euros or dollars to lari), buying SIM cards we will head towards Georgia's capital Tbilisi. On the way we'll snack on Georgian khachapuri to reach the beautifully illuminated city for the evening. Depending on how tired we are from the road, we will be able to go for a walk in the evening. Dinner and overnight in Tbilisi.🕍
Day 2
After a Georgian breakfast, we'll head to the region famous for its best wine-making traditions, Kakheti. Here we will stroll through the streets of the picturesque City of Love-Sighnaghi, you will see for yourself that it resembles Tuscany more than Georgia, thanks to the revitalization that the town underwent during Saakashvili's rule. If anyone would like to get married like in Las Vegas, there is an opportunity, as there is a 24-hour registry office. After coffee and wine in Sighnaghi we will head to Lagodekhi. Here we will have dinner, overnight and last rest before trekking.🏛️
Day 3
After breakfast, we will head to the entrance of Lagodekhi National Park. You will need a permit from the Border Guard to enter, as the park is close to the border (ID cards will suffice). This park is one of the largest in Georgia, of course, we will not visit the entire park, but our goal will be to hike a total of 50 km on the trail to the Black Rocks Lake and back. The trail has been recognized as one of the most interesting trails in Georgia and is distinguished by fabulous views of the Alazani Valley and the Caucasus ranges. We will spread the 50 km route over a total of 3 days, the ascent will start at an altitude of 400 m above sea level, in order to ascend to an altitude of 2900 m on the next day. But don't worry, the luggage will go on horseback, we will set off “lightly”. That day's trek will be: 10 km |5-7 hours| +1422 m ascent / -34 m descent. We will arrive at the tourist hostel “Meteo” (about 2000 m above sea level) for the night. Accommodation here in tourist conditions or in our tents (to be determined as the group gathers). We take with us provisions for the road and sleeping bags.🏔️

Day 4
On this day, after setting up camp, a route from the “Meteto” hut towards the Black Rocks Lake (2900 m above sea level) will await us: 14 km |6-8 hours| +1025 m ascent / -326 m descent. We will hike along the Kochalo ridge. After an hour we will be in the alpine zone, from where, if you are lucky, you can observe, for example: roe deer and deer, black grouse, Caucasian hornbill or eagles. After descending from the pass, we will find ourselves in alpine meadows, relatively flat places that are pastures for goats. We will also come across small glacial lakes and marshes to finally reach the Black Rocks Lake. (Georgian: Shavi Kldeebis Tba). We will stay overnight at the “Demidovi” hut (2650 m) or next to it in tents.🏔️

Day 5
On our last day in the park, we will only have a route back down to the park exit from where we started the trek: 14 km |5-6 hours| +84 m ascent / -2104 m descent. However, we do not return along the same route, we make a loop. After finishing the route, we will have an overnight stay in civilization, which means a bath, dinner and zakawterowanie in a gesthouse in Lagodekhi.🏔️

Day 6
After breakfast, we will embark on a tour of Kakheti to give our tired feet a rest. This day we will have a short relaxation at Kakheti's Ilia and Kvareli lakes. We will arrive in Tbilisi for dinner and overnight.🍷
Day 7
After breakfast, a Tbilisi tour awaits us. There will be time to take the electric train up the hill where the famous Narikala Fortress is located, and from where we will have a panoramic view of the capital. We will visit the old town with the Abanotubani district. We will have lunch and set off on our return trip. Finally, in the evening we will arrive in Kutaisi. We will see the illuminated Kolchida fountain, Bagrati Cathedral, the White and Red Bridge over the Rioni River. On this day, the last supra and overnight in Kutaisi.🍷
Day 8
After breakfast, we will hook up with the bazaar in Kutaisi to stock up on Georgian souvenirs in the form of spices, wine or churcheli (Georgian sweet snickers), then we will already head to Kutaisi airport.✈️
The plan is quite detailed, but it is always subject to change if only due to weather conditions or temporary road closures. You have to remember that Georgia, as beautiful as it is, is also unpredictable, but you love it for that.❤️
Georgia, located at the crossroads of Asia and Europe, will always be both familiar and exotic to us. On the one hand, the famous Georgian hospitality, on the other hand, the culture and traditions that are not fully understood for us. We guarantee that you will fall in love as we did with Georgian cuisine, wine, mountains and people. 🇬🇪❤️🇬🇪
