Day 1 (September 9)

After picking up from the airport (around 1pm depending on which city you are arriving from) in Kutaisi, exchanging money (from euros or dollars to lari), and purchasing SIM cards, we will hit the road to the former capital of Georgia Mtskheta. This ancient city located at the mouth of the Aragva River to Mtkvari is an important symbol of Georgia. It was here, in 337, that Christianity was proclaimed as the state religion after St. Nino introduced Christianity. We will see Mtskheta in the evening, stay here for dinner and overnight, and leave the sightseeing of the city for the sixth day of our stay in Georgia.πŸ•

Day 2 (September 10)

After breakfast we will set off on the road to Kazbegi. The route by car will be through the Georgian War Road, there will be sharp turns and picturesque leading-edges outside the window. We will reach the village of Juta, from where we will start an 8 km trek through the iconic Juta Valley. Views and chillout in nature guaranteed. For those willing to do so, there is the possibility of renting horses and viewing the area from their backs, but we recommend exploring the route on your own feet. For dinner and overnight we will go to Kazbegi. πŸ›οΈ

Day 3 (September 11)

On this day we will see the most recognizable symbol of Georgia that is Trinity Gergeti Church otherwise known as Tsminda Sameba, located so that we will see the village of Kazbegi (Stepantsminda) below, and in the background the view of the peak of Kazbek. Another highlight will be trekking to the Gveleti waterfall, it's only 2.6 km along the Darial Gorge, but the natural circumstances are unforgettable. Then we will visit the Dariali Orthodox monastery. Another dinner and overnight in Kazbegi.πŸ”οΈ

Day 4 (September 12)

After breakfast, we will set out on the road to the Truso Valley, where, in addition to the beautiful mountain views, we will see a pheresis of nature's colors and mineral sulfur springs. We will cover part of the route by car, the rest of the way on foot (7.6km round trip) to finally reach a restaurant/hotel run by one of the monks living in this valley. After a short rest, return to the car to head back along the Georgian War Road, where this time we'll stop for photos at the Georgian-Russian Friendship Monument. Then we will see the village of Khada (with which there is a story :)), taste water from mineral springs, make a small trek (2.8 km) to the waterfall of the same name. For dinner and overnight we will stay in or near the village of Tskere (to be determined).

Day 5 (September 13)

On this day we will cross the mountainous Datvisjvari Pass located at an altitude of 2689 m. We will see Pirkita, the territory of the main ridge of the Caucasus. We will pass through the Khevsureti region to reach Shatila, the informal capital of the region. In Shatila we will visit the fortress, which is a system of defensive towers connected to each other by streets and tunnels. It is characterized by peculiar roofs, laid without mortar from flat slate stones. In Shatila we will have a familiar dinner and overnight stay.🍷

Day 6 (September 14)

After breakfast, we will set out for the medieval fortress of Mutso. Situated on a hill with numerous towers and with isolated rooms where human bones lie, it makes a mystical impression. On the one hand, the picturesque location and breathtaking views, on the other, the horrifying sight of human remains to some. After descending the hill, we will set out on our return journey from Khevsureti. This day we will finally visit Mtskheta, with its most important monument - Tsvetiskhoveli Cathedral. In Mtskheta we will settle down for the night.

Day 7 (September 15)

After breakfast, we will set off for Kutaisi. We will start our sightseeing tour of the Imereti capital from the famous bazaar, where you can buy Georgian delicacies and souvenirs. Then we will see Bagrati Cathedral, the city center with the Kolchida Fountain, the White and Red Bridges over the Rioni River, Amusement Park, where there will be an opportunity for those willing to take a gondola lift with a panoramic view of the city. In the evening, Kutaisi by night, which is the last supra together.🍷

Day 8 (September 16)

After breakfast, packing and departure to Kutaisi airport.✈️

The plan is quite detailed, but it is always subject to change if only due to weather conditions or temporary road closures. You have to remember that Georgia, as beautiful as it is, is also unpredictable, but you love it for that.❀️
