Day 1 (April 13)
After picking up from the airport (around 1pm depending on which city you are arriving from) near Kutaisi, exchanging money (from euros or dollars to lari), buying SIM cards we will head towards Sairme. Sairme is a famous resort in the Lesser Caucasus Mountains, where we will be able to enjoy the beauty of nature and clean mountain air, as well as have a relaxing bath in hot pools with healing water. We will arrive in the capital of Imereti, Kutaisi, for overnight and dinner.ποΈ
Day 2 (April 14)
From Sairme we will head towards the village of Gordi, where the Okatse Canyon is located nearby. Here we offer a 7 km walk along a scenic route up to the lookout point and back, part of the route is on a metal structure, and the canyon at times is over 100 meters deep (warning for those with a fear of heights), for those who are willing, for an additional fee, it is possible to use off-road on part of the route. This day we will also see 2 waterfalls Lomina and Kinchka. Then we will go to Tetra Cave for wine tasting. At the end of the day we will arrive at the Tskaltubo resort, famous for its Soviet sanatoriums. Here dinner and an overnight stay await us.π»
Day 3 (April 15)
After breakfast we will visit Tskaltubo. Not only Urbex fans will be delighted by the architecture of the extinct sanatoriums, of which there are many here. From here we will proceed on a journey leading to the Green Lakes in Kulbaki. Depending on weather conditions, we will cover the last stretch along a scenic 5km route on foot or by car (a total of 10km in both directions). The lakes are famous for trout farming, so we will be able to buy and consume fresh fish on the spot. That day we will also see the Ghvirishi Waterfall. We will arrive at Nasperi village for the night.
Day 4 (April 16)
After breakfast, we will set out on the next route. A small trek (5 km) towards Sairme Pillars awaits us, for the less fit part of the group there will be an opportunity to see the pilars from below from the park part. After the trek, we will visit the village of Ambrolauri in Rachy, where there will be an opportunity to taste local varieties of wine for an additional fee. For dinner and overnight we will head to Oni village.ποΈ
Day 5 (April 17)
From Oni we will drive our minivan to the town of Ghebi. Here, after lodging in cabins overlooking the mountains, we will drive to admire the mountain landscapes in Gona. We will visit the monastery there. In the evening we will have a workshop on making hinkali and dinner in Ghebi.
Day 6 (April 18)
After breakfast, we will drive up to the mountain panorama in Mravaldzala. We can walk (3.8 km one way) to Lake Cholevi. This day we will have a visit to Nikortsminda Monastery. Then we will drive along Shaori Lake to reach Kutaisi for the night.π
Day 7 (April 19)
After breakfast we will start the day with a sightseeing tour of Kutaisi. First we will go to the famous bazaar, where you can buy Georgian delicacies and souvenirs. We will see the Bagrati Cathedral, the city center with the Kolchida Fountain, the White and Red Bridges over the Rioni River, Amusement Park, where there will be an opportunity for those willing to take a gondola lift with a panoramic view of the city. In the evening supra at Tina's and the last night together in Kutaisi.π·
Day 8 (April 20)
After breakfast, packing and transportation to the airport.βοΈ
The plan is quite detailed, but it is always subject to change if only due to weather conditions or temporary road closures. You have to remember that Georgia, as beautiful as it is, is also unpredictable, but you love it for that. π¬πͺβ€οΈπ΅π±
Georgia, which lies at the crossroads of Asia and Europe, will always be both familiar and exotic to us. On the one hand, the famous Georgian hospitality, on the other hand, the culture and traditions that we do not fully understand. 50 EUR (booking deposit) on account + 590 EUR payable on the spot upon arrival (total 640 EUR).
Those who are determined should first of all buy air tickets. This is a guarantee of the trip for us. Then, after sending confirmation of ticket purchase, a reservation deposit is required within 7 days, in case of cancellation the deposit is non-refundable).
Number of places strongly limited, only intimate groups. The minimum number of people for the tour to take place is 4.
