Svaneti 2025
YOGA AND TREKKING IN SVANETI
Day 1 (11 May 2025)
After picking up from the airport in Kopitnari (20 km from Kutaisi), exchanging money (from euros or dollars to lari), buying SIM cards, we will hit the road for a visit to the Enguri Dam, which at one time was the highest (272 m) arch dam in the world, today it is ranked 6th in this respect. The hydroelectric power plant on the Inguri River lies partly on the territory of Abkhazia, which it also supplies with electricity. In truth, the dam is just a short stop on our long (several hours) road to the Svaneti region. We will arrive at the gesthouse in the village of Mazeri for dinner and overnight, from where we will have a view of the Greater Caucasus. In the evening we will have our first yoga session and dinner consisting of local food.🕍
Day 2 (12 May 2025)
After morning yoga and a Georgian breakfast we are getting ready for a real trek. First we will reach the ‘Hiker cafe’ from where we will trek to Shdugra Waterfall. The approach is about 7.5 km one way, so about 15 km round trip. The views will certainly reward us for the effort of the climb, and Ola will make sure we don't get sour in the evening during yoga practice. Dinner and overnight at the gesthouse in Mazeri.⛰️
Day 3 (13 May 2025)
From Mazeri, after yoga and breakfast, we'll take a scenic car route to the high mountain town of Mestia. It is here that we will visit 2 interesting museums, one on Georgian climber Mikhala Khergiani and the Museum of History and Ethnography. If we have enough time, we will also climb to the roof of one of the svanetian defence towers. And the highlight of the day is a 5km light trek towards the Chaaladi Glacier. Overnight and dinner in Mestia. Of course, there will be a daily dose of yoga.🗻
Day 4 (14 May 2025)
On this day, after practice and food, we will set off on a trek from Mestia to Koruldi Lakes. Koruldi Lakes is at an altitude of about 2740m, while Mestia itself is at an altitude of about 1430m, as you can easily count we have more than 1300 metres of ascent and then descent that day. The length of the route from Mestia to the Koruldi Lakes is 7.2 km one way, so a total of almost 15 km. So a full day on the trail awaits us. After returning for the night and dinner, stretching to avoid sourness.
Day 5 (15 May 2025)
After yoga and breakfast, we will head to Heshkili Huts for a photo shoot, where we will have a moment to relax on the swings overlooking the Caucasus Mountains. We will then make our way along the winding Svaneti roads to Ushguli. Situated at over 2,200 metres above sea level, this village has 4 hamlets (Zhibiani, Chvibiani, Chazhashi and Murkmeli), and is famous for its stone defence towers. The wildness and ruggedness of this place will surely delight you. In the afternoon we will visit the village of Ushguli, if there is enough time and strength we will climb the hill with the Tamara Tower. Overnight and dinner in Usghuli overlooking Shkara.🏔️
Day 6 (16 May 2025)
On this day, after a Georgian breakfast, the highlight awaits us with a horseback ride and the popular approach to the head of the Shkara glacier. Shkara is Georgia's highest peak with an altitude of 5203 m. Don't let the numbers scare you though, we will admire the peak from a safe distance. First we will ride 10 km on horseback, leave the horses to rest and approach the glacier via a scenic and not too demanding route of about 2 km. Then down to the horses and return on horseback another 10 km. Dinner and overnight still in Ushguli.🐎
Day 7 (17 May 2025)
On this day we'll be viewing the world mainly from behind the car windows, as we face an approximately 6-hour drive back to Kutaisi. Don't worry, there will be stops, and the route through mountain passes with rushing streams below is sure to provide plenty of entertainment. Upon arrival in Kutaisi if we have enough time we will go shopping in the Green Bazaar and visit Bagrati Cathedral and the city in the evening. Yoga will take place on the terrace of our favourite hotel overlooking the city skyline. That evening, a final supra with a cooking workshop and an overnight stay in Kutaisi will await us. 🍷
Day 8 (18 May 2025)
After breakfast, packing and transfer to the airport. Possibly here a bazaar on the way. ✈️
The itinerary is quite detailed, but is always subject to change if only due to weather conditions or temporary road closures. You have to remember that Georgia, as beautiful as it is, is also unpredictable, but you love it for that.❤️
Located at the crossroads of Asia and Europe, Georgia will always be both familiar and exotic to us. On the one hand, the famous Georgian hospitality, on the other hand, its culture and traditions are not fully understood by us. We guarantee that you will fall in love with Georgian cuisine, wine, mountains and people, just as we did. 🇬🇪❤️🇬🇪

A few words about our yoga teacher:
Aleksandra Arndt - certified teacher of vinyasa yoga (Yoga Alliance RYT-200), prenatal yoga and yin yoga (in the course of postgraduate studies at the Academy of Physical Education in Warsaw in the field of ‘Relaxation and Yoga’).
Ola about herself: ‘Yoga has been not only my passion but also my whole life for over 4 years now. I run my own Yoga Studio in Cieszyn, as well as classes in Bielsko-Biała and my beloved village Łączka, in groups and individually. Several times a year I organise weekend trips all over Poland. I like to balance dynamic flow practice with the accuracy of staying in postures and searching for myself in slow, fascial sessions. During classes it is important for me not only to practice asanas, but also pranayama (the art of breathing), meditation as well as mindfulness techniques. Out of concern for the planet and a desire to be far away from the drugstore and closer to nature, my new passion for creating natural cosmetics such as soaps, body lotions and lipsticks was born, which I share by gifting to my loved ones and yogis.’
